Stage notes
Previous is Dragonfly. Next is Duck, 950 to 1,300 XP, and the Strategies page says Duck eats fish. Pigeon is a normal-family animal, not a prehistoric stage. If you searched “bird”, the playable birds continue through Blue Bird, Red Bird, and Maroon Bird.
Use Hunger around grassland food
Pigeon's documented foods are Acorn at 25 base XP, Bread at 55, and Worm at 100. Hunger makes the next meal a single-bite meal when its passive cooldown is ready; the wiki lists 20 seconds. Three worms total the 300 base XP interval, before any bonuses, but that is a calculation rather than a tested three-meal route.
Grassland farms and houses are documented worm and bread locations. Wasp and Hornet can prey on Pigeon despite their position in the evolution order. Owl, Maroon Bird, larger predators, and reapers are also listed. Avoid waiting for a cooldown in an exposed food cluster when a red-border player is approaching.
